Saturday, March 29: Town of Orleans Rabies Clinic at the Animal Hospital of Orleans, 65 Finlay Rd.

9 AM to 12 PM. $10.00 per vaccine. Dogs, cats & ferrets welcome. Please bring most recent copy of you pet's Rabies Certificate, if available. Dogs must be on a leash and cats & ferrets confined to a carrier.

Thursday, April 24: Orleans Improvement Association Annual Meeting. 4:30 pm at the Orleans Historical Society on River Rd. Refreshments will be served. Speakers George Meservey, Town Planner and John Fallender, Chairman of the Orleans Planning Board will speak about the future look of the Orleans Village Center. Mahara Ashlie, owner of WELSTAR essential wellness spa will be presented with a Certificate of Appreication in recognition of the restoration work done on her building at 42 South Orleans Rd.


Friday, April 25: 3rd Annual Summer Job Fair co-sponsored by the Eastham Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Eastham from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Eastham Town Hall on Route 6. The job fair is designed to reach all the towns in the outer Cape region. Drawing businesses to offer and applicants to fill over 100 jobs. Jobs vary from seasonal, part-time to full-time year round employment. Job seekers vary from high school and college students to retired individuals. Local employers can describe jobs, accept applications and discuss the qualifications they are seeking. Employers contact the Eastham Chamber to register 508-240-7211 or info@easthamchamber.com.


Thursday, May 1: Nauset Workforce Job Fair hosted by the Nauset Regional High School from 1:45 to 4 pm in the NRHS's cafeteria. The fair is designed to put local employers in contact with high school students and recent graduates who are interested in working both for the upcoming summer season and during the school year. The event is open to all employers from all Chambers of Commerce with priority given to Chamber members from the towns of Orleans, Brewster, Eastham, Wellfleet and Truro. Employers from other towns can request a booth on a space available basis. Employers must register by April 29th. Sunday, May 4: Cape Community Orchestra will present its Spring Concert Series at Church of the Holy Spirit, 204 Monument Rd, Orleans at 3:00 pm. Admission is free, donations will be accepted at the door. For more information call: 508-432-4329


Tuesday, May 6: EPOCH of Harwich hosts an open discussion with Senator Rob O'Leary at 5:30 pm. Light refreshments and beverages will be served.  Please RSVP at 508-430-1717.


Thursday, May 22: Pops in the Park Kick-Off at the Old Jailhouse Tavern with the unveiling of the Pops Painting and a Silent Auction featuring goods and services from across the Nauset Region. Proceeds from the Silent Auction help support the Pops in the Park Scholarship Fund. Open to the public ~ all are invited!


Thursday, May 22: U.S. Small Business Administration 2008 "Celebrate Success" Awards Luncheon sponsored by Cape Business Publishing Group. Wednesday, August 20: 12th Annual Block Party and Antique & Classic Auto Show sponsored by the Orleans Police Dept from 6:30 to 9:30 pm on Main Street Orleans between Route 6A and Brewster Cross Rd. Anyone wishing to enter a vehicle may do so after 5:30 pm. There are no entry forms and no judging, just a plain, fun-filled evening for families and children of all ages. The Block Party includes clowns, food, dancing with music from the 1950's to current releases, played for the 12th year by disc jockey, Omer Chartrand. Friday & Saturday, November 28 & 29: CHRISTMAS IN ORLEANS. Friday night enjoy a traditional candlelight stroll and tree lighting. Saturday morning at 9 am children can play Reindeer Games while waiting for Santa to arrive by boat at 10 am followed by children's games, arts & crafts and more! Mom & Dad bring your camera. Lots of family fun.

JUNG-HO PAK TO CONDUCT 2008 POPS IN THE PARK CONCERT

Jung-Ho Pak will conduct the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra at the 19th Annual Pops in the Park. Jung-Ho Pak has been delighting audiences since his arrival to the Cape after many successes with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra. His approach to music is considered revolutionary and he's been described as radiating enthusiasm. Don't miss this wonderful evening.

Pops "kicks off" on May 22, 2008 with our annual Cheers to Nauset! at the Old Jailhouse Tavern with the unveiling of the Pops Painting and an auction featuring goods and services from across the Nauset Region. This annual party brings all of the Pops sponsors together as well as the general public to toast the success of the upcoming Pops in the Park. All are invited!
